The proposal is a story you will tell forever. You will tell it to friends and family, and to yourselves on every anniversary and at every milestone. You will tell it whenever someone asks you, “How did he propose?”.
Rome offers the perfect backdrop for this: a sunset over the Colosseum, a private terrace overlooking the city or a secluded garden in Trastevere. But here’s something no one tells you: organising a marriage proposal in a foreign city is complicated. You need permits for public spaces. Finding photographers who speak English and understand your vision. You need to synchronise the lighting, too. You need a backup plan in case of rain.
I have organised many marriage proposals in Rome. Some proposals lasted just a few minutes. Others were elaborate productions involving musicians, flowers, and champagne to enjoy afterwards. What did they all have in common? Perfect execution, zero stress, and a memorable moment.
First, I try to understand your relationship: how you met, what is important to your partner and the moments that define you as a couple. Then I create a proposal that reflects both of your personalities and take care of every detail, allowing you to be fully present when you ask the question.

Amalfi Coast: Clifftop terraces in Ravello and hidden coastal gardens in Positano provide private settings above the Mediterranean. Natural drama without elaborate staging.

Securing the venue and coordinating timings. For public locations that require permits, I manage the authorisation process with the local authorities.

Design elements
Flowers and candles — any setup that enhances without overwhelming. I work with floral designers who understand minimal elegance, creating arrangements that feel intentional rather than excessive.
For certain locations, such as private venues and villa terraces, we can create more elaborate settings. For public spaces, we keep the design subtle and portable.
Timeline and day-of coordination
I manage every element minute by minute. I will be nearby during the proposal (without being visible to your partner) to ensure that the photographers are ready, the timing is correct and any last-minute adjustments are made seamlessly.
You will receive a detailed timeline in advance, so you will know exactly what to expect. There’s no uncertainty and no need to worry about logistics.
Photography and videography
I work with photographers who know the Roman locations intimately and have documented dozens of proposals. They arrive early, position themselves correctly and remain unseen until the moment, capturing everything from your approach to your partner’s reaction and the celebrations afterwards.
Video coverage is also available for those who want it, filmed discreetly and edited professionally.
The Approach How I work on proposals
This isn’t about spectacle; it’s about authenticity. A marriage proposal should feel true to you as a couple, not like a production.
Step 1: Understanding Your Story
We start with an in-depth discussion about your relationship: how you met and what matters to your partner and the defining moments of your relationship. This informs our choice of location, timing, atmosphere, and how we preserve the surprise.
Step 2: Location planning
I will present two to three curated location options, each with permit requirements, timing recommendations, backup plans and complete logistics. I have scouted every major proposal location in Rome — I know which terrace has the best sunset view in April, I know which garden corner stays shaded in the August heat and which piazza is empty at 7 am but packed by 9 am. You choose. I’ll take care of the rest.
Step 3: Coordination
I will arrange the photographers, design elements, permits and timeline. You will receive a detailed brief a week before, including where to be, when, what will happen and a backup plan if needed. If You want family nearby or complete privacy, I can coordinate either.
Step 4: Day-of execution
I will arrive early to confirm that everything is in place and will stay nearby (out of sight) during the proposal. After she says yes, I can coordinate the next steps, such as taking additional photos, opening the champagne, dinner, or privacy to celebrate.
Step 5: After
Photos will arrive within 2–3 weeks (videos within 3–4 weeks). I follow up to ensure that everything meets expectations.

How far in advance should I contact you?
Ideally, two to three months in advance for Rome proposals, to secure the best locations and photographers. I can occasionally accommodate shorter notice (4–6 weeks), though the range of options is more limited. For peak season (May–June and September–October), three to four months’ notice is recommended.
Do you personally handle every proposal?
Yes. From our first conversation to standing nearby during the actual moment (ensuring everything unfolds correctly), I’m there personally. No assistants, no delegation. You have my direct contact throughout.
What if it rains or weather is bad?
For outdoor proposals, I always prepare a backup plan — either an alternate covered location or flexibility to reschedule. We discuss weather contingencies during planning so you’re not worried on the day. Rome’s weather is generally reliable, but I plan for every scenario.
Do you help with the rest of our Rome trip?
If desired, yes. I can arrange restaurant reservations, recommend experiences, coordinate hotel details, and help plan a complete Roman experience around your proposal. Some couples prefer to handle this themselves; others appreciate full coordination.
Do you only handle proposals in Rome?
Rome is my base, and most of the proposals I coordinate take place there. However, I can also arrange proposals in Tuscany, on the Amalfi Coast and in other Italian regions if you have the right vision and location in mind. Please note that these typically require larger budgets due to the necessary travel coordination.
Why should we hire a wedding planner?
Planning an elopement from abroad can be challenging. You need to find intimate locations, understand Italian legal requirements and coordinate trusted vendors. I personally handle all of this, transforming the complexity into a stress-free experience, so you can simply look forward to your big day.
