Angel & Gabriela

A Mexican dream in the heart of Rome

An email with Spanish accents received in January 2024 began an unforgettable experience with Gabriela, Angel and little Matias. Their story turned into a micro wedding with a Mexican flavor, culminating in a religious celebration in the prestigious “Cappella del Coro” in the Vatican, one of the most exclusive and spiritually significant places in Rome.

The Vatican wedding was the sacred moment this couple so longed for. Gaby, in an unconventional spirit, crossed Via della Conciliazione and St. Peter’s Square on foot with her father, under the amazed gazes of tourists, to reach one of the most coveted altars in the world. Waiting for her were an excited Angel and little Matias, who had rehearsed his role as ring bearer with dedication.

After the ceremony in the heart of Christendom, the festivities continued in the beautiful court of the Hotel De La Ville. Their infectious sunshine illuminated the entire celebration, from the lilac-colored flowers that decorated the stunning Ivy Room to more intimate moments such as the first dance, where Gaby surprised everyone by performing “Ojalá Que Sí.

This modern couple serenely relied on my advice, even when we had to organize the civil wedding in the small town of Zagarolo at the last minute-an unexpected but extraordinarily exciting excursion just days before the religious sacrament.

Each Vatican wedding tells a unique story, but Gaby and Angel’s will remain etched in my memories for the perfect fusion of Catholic tradition, Mexican influences, and authentic joy in the heart of Rome.

Thank you Gaby and Angel for giving me the honor of being part of your story. If you too want an unforgettable wedding in Rome, find out how we can make it happen together on my Rome Weddings page.
